Mplayer on iPhone- Plays almost all media formats

Mplayer , a media player supporting mpeg4,h.264,wmv,mp3,real media and t-dmb formats is now available on iPhone. This player could be installed if you have a iPhone unlocked with cydia source on it. This player could be used to play the supported files from /private/var/media. Though the player assists you from converting your media files to Mp4 format, these are still at development stage and requires improvement in its performance.

The controls are present at the bottom of the screen.(worked in iPhone2G version 2.2)
