Windows 7 Beta will be available for general public from Friday 9th January,2009. Microsoft announced the release yesterday and allows only a total of 2.5 million downloads. Ballmer unveiled the final release of Windows 7 will be at the same time next year irrespective of the financial situations and economic crisis. Microsoft also announced the release of Windows server 2008 R2 shares much of the code base with Windows 7.
VLC player a popular and widely preferred media player is now available for iPhone users. Vlc4iphone v1.6.0 is the latest release available for jail broken iPhone users with cydia source. The features include ability to stream video and audio content from Pc to iPhone and also internet radio browser and player.
The video resolution is not great adding to the decreased video size occupying only half the screenspace as shown in the picture.
Mplayer , a media player supporting mpeg4,h.264,wmv,mp3,real media and t-dmb formats is now available on iPhone. This player could be installed if you have a iPhone unlocked with cydia source on it. This player could be used to play the supported files from /private/var/media. Though the player assists you from converting your media files to Mp4 format, these are still at development stage and requires improvement in its performance.
